Fernando Perez III has been practicing in Florida for 35 years, and practices primarily in matters involving immigration law and business transactions related to immigration matters.

 

Mr. Perez received his Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service from the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service and his Juris Doctorate from the Georgetown University Law Center.

 

Mr. Perez is Board Certified by the Florida Bar as a specialist in Immigration and Nationality Law. Mr. Perez is listed in The Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers and in an International Who's Who of Corporate Immigration Lawyers. Mr. Perez is rated A-V by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest rating attainable by an attorney, and is fluent in Spanish.

 

Mr. Perez is licensed to practice immigration and nationality law in all 50 states before the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (formerly the Immigration and Naturalization Service), the office of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (formerly Border Patrol), the office of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the United States Department of State, the United States Department of Labor, the Executive Office for Immigration Review, and the Board of Immigration Appeals, in addition to all United States Embassies and Consulates.

Besides his vast experience representing clients, Mr. Perez is an internationally recognized writer and lecturer on matters of immigration law and international transactions, especially as these matters affect foreign investors. He appears frequently on television, radio, and in print media as a commentator on immigration matters. He is frequently consulted by members of the United States Department of State, the Department of Homeland Security, and by Members of Congress on matters of new legislation, and is an advanced level presenter at international conferences of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the American Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association, and the Florida Bar.

 

Mr. Perez has served as a Special Envoy of the Governor of the State of Florida and the Florida cities of Tampa, St. Petersburg, Largo, and Clearwater in matters of international affairs. Mr. Perez is a past member of the National Board of Governors of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, and past President of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, Central Florida Chapter. Prior to serving as President and member of the National Board of Governors, Mr. Perez served as liaison between the American Immigration Lawyers Association and the Immigration and Naturalization Service (now known as the Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services) and the Executive Office for Immigration Review.

 

Mr. Perez is a former Assistant State Attorney. He has served as a Director of the Downtown Tampa YMCA, the Hispanic Business Institute, and the British-American Chamber of Commerce. He was also a founding member of the Hillsborough County Bar's Farm Worker Volunteer Program, a Big Brother, and a volunteer diver for The Florida Aquarium.
